I have lived in London for a few years and never really ventured to the Richmond area. Richmond Park is one of those places that I have seen on Instagram constantly and wanted to visit because it looked like the perfect place to go to get away from city vibes.
Richmond is so beautiful, to have a place in London that you can have a slice of countryside is amazing. We went for a cute picnic and chilled in the sun all day, which is easy to do. Its peaceful but still busy so you can feel you aren’t far away from the bustle of London.
There is plenty to do with the floods of deers situated in the park to the children’s playgrounds. It is so massive I couldn’t imagine you’d be able to walk it all and see it all in one visit anyway. I personally just enjoyed listening to some music and reading my book in the sun.
I would completely recommend getting there as early as possible. We arrived at about 11am and really struggled to find a parking space. If you are taking public transport it doesn’t really matter but if you are driving there, i’ve warned you!
I’ve put a few of my favourite picnic picks below if you are in the market for a new kit!
